My wife and our 5 day old daughter are having difficulty breastfeeding. She latches on to her just fine, but only tries sucking a few times before getting frustrated and giving up. My wife has been using a pump to increase her supply which is helping, but our daughter still will not suck for more than 15 seconds are so. We’ve talked with a couple lactation consultants, but they have just frustrated our baby more. Any advice/tricks of the trade?
P.S. We are bottle feeding formula/breast milk when she won’t nurse.
